Library Equity Access Fund (LEAF)

The purpose of the TLN Library Equity Access Fund (LEAF) is to provide financial assistance to one or more member libraries each year to further equitable access to resources through the cooperative. The LEAF includes money to be awarded to member libraries that need funding to participate in TLN initiatives, projects, services, and programs.

Annual budgeting approved by the TLN Board of Trustees includes funding for the LEAF and the TLN Executive Director will work to identify needs for use of the funding and how funding should be distributed. In general, funding awarded to member libraries is meant to be one-time assistance for specific purposes. Any remaining LEAF funds at the end of any given fiscal cycle will remain earmarked for the LEAF in following budget years.

Policy

The TLN Board of Trustees will approve annual funding for the LEAF as part of the annual budgeting process.

The TLN Executive Director will identify needs for use of the funding and how funding should be distributed.

Working with the TLN Executive Director, libraries benefiting from LEAF will provide a summary of how they benefited from use of the LEAF funds.

The TLN Executive Director will provide the Board of Trustees with an annual accounting of how any LEAF awards were distributed, what awards were used for, and any outcomes of award distribution.
