TLN Is Disheartened by Firing of Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden

The Library Network is disappointed with the abrupt firing of the Librarian of Congress, Carla Hayden. Hayden's appointment in 2016 made her the first woman and first Black person to hold the position. Additionally, she was the first professional Librarian to hold the role since 1974. Her term would have ended in 2026 with the option to renew if approved by Congress.
